Creation and implementation of the “Operating Room Preparation” process: an experience report

Objective: To describe the creation and deployment of the “Operating Room Preparation” process, aimed at optimizing operating rooms in a private hospital, and report the experience of the nursing staff, highlighting the positive aspects of this experience. Method: This is an experience report in which the process created and deployed to optimize the use of operating rooms is described. Results: After implementation, there was reduction of 36% in setup time and 40% in the percentage of surgeries delayed for more than an hour, considering the scheduled time as reference. Conclusion: The gain in productivity enabled the growth of the project, with the hiring of 13 nursing assistants and the performance of training with the support areas, providing benefits to all the personnel involved.References
