Surgical Site lnfection: Analysis oi Scientific Production in Nursing

Surgical site infection is one of the complications inherent in the anesthetic -surgical procedure. This study aimed to analyze the scientific production on surgical site infection prevention and contrai measures in the perioperative period, which was published in national nursing journals . After apparent and content validation of the data collection instrument, a survey was carried out in the journals listed in O ualis/ Cap es as leveis B and C of international circulation and leveis A and B of national circulation, totalling 11 titles, by means of a manual search in the available collection s. 148 (85.5%) editions of the selected journals were found, in which 9 articles on the research theme were identi fied. lt was concluded that studies on surgical site infection and contrai measures are scarce, which implies the need to develop research that can contribute to improved Perioperative N ursing care
