Anxiety and fear: nursing diagnostic pre-operative cardiac surgery patient

This research objective wasto know the evidences shown by the patients in pre-operative cardiac surgery,related to the Nursing Diagnostic of Fearand Anxiety, deíined by North Ameri-can Nursing and "NANDA. It is anexploratory and descriptive research withquantitative approach, carried out withtwenty pre-operative myocardium surgerypatients, applied through one question-naire, with constructed questions throwexplicit and distinguished characteristicsand factors related to Nursing DiagnosticOí Fear and Anxiety. Ten (10) out ofthose patients didn't participated onthe meeting about surgery orientations.The results shows no anxiety decreasein both groups (the group of patientsthat attended the meetings and the onethat hasnt). Nevertheless, meaningfuldecrease on patients afraid has been ap-pears. The evidence strongly shows thatNursing Diagnostic oí Fear and Anxietyare present on pre-operative cardiacsurgery patients, having representative onexpress the signs veracity and symptomsconcerning these diagnostics.
